Good morning! I hope you had a better Monday than I did. It was an emotionally draining day for me. We said goodbye to my Grandma who passed away last week. It was a sad day. I know she is in a better place now and with my Grandpa but it was still very hard to say goodbye. To top it off I started getting a cold so as the day progressed, I was sneezing and ended up with a massive headache. It was not a very good day!
On a more positive note, we did end up seeing lots of people that we hadn’t seen in a very long time. So it was nice to catch up with some old friends and just remember some of the fond memories we have of Grandma. 
Enough about that, lets move on to happier things. This month at stamp club, we used our paper daisies. While planning the class, I was playing around with them and creating a few samples, this was one of the samples. The base is created using an envelope. I just sealed it and then used the scallop border punch along one of the ends to open it up and create a pocket. I’m not sure just what I will put inside yet but I will put it to use.
For the accent I used the largest size daisy. I stamped on it using the fine flourish background stamp with soft suede ink. I love those little background stamps (page 140) – they are a great for creating a background in a smaller space. The flower was then sponged with both baja breeze and soft suede. I wanted a little more contrast in behind the flower so I added a 2-1/2″ soft suede circle in behind. The dsp is the Paisley Petals paper that is in the Spring is Blossoming promotion this month. The baja flower was cut using the Fun Flowers die (love that die!), curled with the bone folder and sponged with soft suede. The button is a retired Baja button.
It was a quick and easy way to create an accent. The paper flowers are so much fun, you can die them using water and ink refills, sponge them, stamp on them, emboss them, add glitter to them, use chalk or water color wonder crayons. The options are endless! So fun!
