Good morning! I hope you are having a great weekend. Mine has been rather frustrating. I’m trying to get a project done and it’s just not working for me and I’m so frustrated because it really isn’t that difficult. Don’t you hate it when you have those kinds of days. To top it off, I don’t have time to fiddle with it anymore because there are too many other things that need to get done before I leave on Tuesday morning!
Anyway, on to today’s post – another organization post! Our lives when the kids are in school are crazy busy. Our kids, especially Jordyn, are involved in lots of activities and I find that in order for us to eat well, and not spend a fortune on eating out, it helps to have a menu plan. So about a year ago I made these menu’s in MDS and then had them laminated, and added magnets to the back. I don’t think I’ve shared them with you, if I have I apologize.
Every Sunday I fill it out and then on Monday morning go shopping for the groceries we need for the week. Both Jordyn and Eathan each get to pick at least one meal every week, the rest of the weeks meals get chosen by Marcel and I. Not only has this saved us money but less food is being wasted, I spend less time in the grocery stores, we eat more balanced meals and it solves the problem of what to take out for dinner the night before.
My inspiration came from a talented digital crafter – Colette from My Computer is My Canvas. She’s got lots of great ideas! I created a few of them based on different seasons or occasions, all following the same format.
If you are interested in learning more about MDS2, I have an upcoming class on Saturday, January 26 from 10 am to noon. At January’s class we will be covering the basics of MDS2. The class will run once a month until June, each month focusing on a new technique. This is a great opportunity for you to come, bring your laptop with MDS2 loaded and learn new techniques and have time to play, with me available to answer your questions. Projects will vary from scrapbook layouts, cards to home decor. Class size will be limited to 6 and is $10 or free with a minimum $25 order (can be digital or regular product or a combination of both). RSVP is required for all classes.
Here’s a list of the class dates so you can mark your calendar:
- Saturday, January 26 – 10 am to noon
- Saturday, February 9 – 10am to noon
- Saturday, March 9 – 10am to noon
- Saturday, April 13 – 10am to noon

I look forward to sharing with you some of what I love about MDS2!
