When I see a card sketch, I often think about how I could use it as a scrapbook sketch. I consider myself a scrapbooker before a cardmaker. It may not appear that way if you visit my blog regularly because there aren’t many scrapbook pages. Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is my business and my passion. Because most of my customers are primarily interested in cardmaking – (although I have converted some of them:), I spend much of my time on cards and 3-D projects but what I really love is scrapbooking. Anyway, back to the sketch – every Monday I get the Mojo Sketch emailed to me and file it away in hopes that I’ll be able to use it and I often do, but for cards.
Yesterday I got a big box of Summer Mini goodies and just had to use them. This weeks sketch was perfect for some photos that I’ve been wanting to scrapbook and the paper – Island Oasis – coordinated beautifully with my daughters outfit. So I combined the two – my preorder and the Mojo sketch. This is the result – what do you think?
This layout uses many new products (available May 1st): Island Oasis dsp (117173); Island Floral Bigz die (118871); Elements of Style stamp set (118611 -wood/120045 – clear); In a Word (117143 – wood/120057 – clear). This paper also coordinates beautifully with the Flower Fusion felt flowers (110720) so I incorporated a few of those.
Take a look at these beauties. I love the Island Floral die! Can’t wait to play with this a little more. I noticed that the leaf on this die looks kind of like a Christmas light bulb – I can see using it on a Christmas layout. We need more hours in a day – too many ideas, too little time!
