Do you ever get the urge to go through your stash and use older products? I do! For this weeks Memory Keeping Monday layout I’ve used some old retired products. It feels so good when you can put that older product to use. It makes me feel like it now had a purpose for remaining in my stash and I don’t feel as guilty keeping so much. Anyone else feel that way?
Last February when I participated in LOAD219 (Layout a Day), I created quite a few ‘page kits’. Basically I gathered photos that needed to be scrapbooked, then went through my products and found patterned papers and embellishments/stickers that I thought would work well. These supplies were then tucked into a pocket page. This two page spread was the result of one of those kits.
These kits are perfect for retreats, crops or when I go to a friends place to scrapbook. I’ve already done a bit of pre work so it makes it easy to just whip up a page or two without having to bring a whole bunch of product. Plus it saves a ton of time looking through all your paper to find what works. That can sometimes be the biggest barrier.
I’m heading out to Bittern Lake for another retreat this weekend and I hope to have the opportunity to put together a few more kits to take with me.
The Details:
I didn’t have the packaging for the dsp anymore so I don’t remember what it was called but it was a package with some vegetables, woodgrain and gingham patterns. Perfect for these photos from our end of year burn/smore celebration.
The embellishments came from a leftover Project Life sticker sheet leftover and some were cut from the cards that coordinated. I’m slowly getting through my collection of retired bits and pieces.
The vellum saying had a title that just didn’t fit the photos so I chose to cover it over. I love how it turned out great!
I hope you get a chance to get crafty this week!
