Today I’m sharing a linked together birthday card. You can find the linked together bundle (stamp set, dies and masks) on page 49 of the Stampin’ Up! January to April mini catalogue. For today’s project I just used the dies and the masks. I love these dies. You can see another project I created using them in this video.
I seem to be turning to subtles and neutrals a lot lately and this card is no exception. So I pulled out this simple crumb cake pattern paper from the Wildly Flowering paper pack to use as the starting point for this project.
Measurements:
- Early Espresso: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic Beige: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and 4″ x 5-1/4″ (for inside); scrap for greeting
- Wildly Flowering DSP: 3-3/4″ x 5″ and 1/4″ x 4″ (for inside)
- Mossy Meadow: 2″ x 3″ for die cutting the leaf and 1/2″ x 4″ for inside
- Lemon Lolly: 2″ x 3″ for die cutting flowers
- Linen Thread: 8″
- Party Dots: x3
Instructions:
- Using the finest Linked Together stencil and a blending brush, add the pattern to the smaller piece of basic beige card stock.
- Add that piece to the card front.
- Die cut the diamond shape from the centre of the dsp and then from the diamond shape, die cut the oval. Distress around the edges of the larger piece and add it, and the oval, to the card front using dimensionals.
- Die cut the larger leave from mossy meadow card stock. Add it to the card front.
- Die cut three of the larger flowers from the lemon lolly card stock. Using a sponge dauber and some calypso coral ink, add a bit of ink to the centres. Add them to the card front.
- Stamp desired greeting using early espresso ink onto the scrap of basic beige card stock. I used the ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting from the Round We go stamp set. Fussy cut the greeting.
- Tie a bow from the linen thread and add it to the card front. Add greeting overtop.
- Finish off by adding party dots to the flower centres.
