Good morning! First of all, I apologize for the quality of this photo – it seems to have a fair bit of glare and I didn’t realize it when I took the photo. This was another layout from Jordyn’s Mexico trip for her album. Kept it really simple! I used a card from the Let’s Get Away Project Life by Stampin’ Up! card collection and a bunch of scraps from various kits that I had left over. I like to keep all the extra bits and pieces from kits and nice sized scraps. So that I can easily add extra details to my PL layouts or planner pages.
All the pieces that embellished this card (from the Let’s Get Away collection) came from my scraps. I store them in 4×6 containers that I found at a local craft shop and sort them by color. Then they are stored in the bottom of my IKEA cart.
Here’s a photo of the bottom of my cart. Each bin has a different label – some by theme (ie travel, journaling cards etc.) and the rest are sorted by color.
Inside each bin you will find leftover pieces from various kits, card fronts that I love, tags off of clothing – basically anything that catches my eye that I think I might use for Project Life and/or my planners. Anything that is larger than 6″ gets cut down to fit into the bin. These don’t include any of my scraps of cardstock, I file those in with the rest of my cardstock. This system has been working really well for me. I will have to get a few more containers soon as some of the doubled up colors need to be separated because they are too full. But it allows me to really use my products, there’s very little waste and everything is easy to find.
Thanks for stopping by – have a creative day!
Sherry
