I often start a scrapbook layout with a sketch. When I was scrapbooking last week, I was inspired by the Creative Scrapbooker June 2017 sketch.
It seems strange to be scrapbooking a winter photo at the beginning of summer but that was the next photo that needed to be scrapbooked in my current album so I just went for it. Plus I’ve been loving the Colorful Seasons stamp set and the snowflakes in that set just seemed perfect!
The colours I chose for the layout are basic gray, pink pirouette and pool party. It’s hard to tell from the photo but I layered a piece of vellum (the largest layer) right under the photo and then added the pink pirouette (1/16″ mat) and then the basic gray. I just found that the vellum cardstock softened the pink and gray cardstocks which suited the photo better.
You can never go wrong with a couple doilies and some thread! This combination creates a nice accent without taking away from the photo.
I think one of my most used punches is the triple banner punch! I love creating flagged ends and this punch makes the perfect flag, every single time.
Have a creative day!
