How do you document your holidays? I’m curious about what everyone else does.
- Do you keep a travel journal with notes?
- Do you create an entire album with the photos you take?
- Do you add the photos into your regular album?
- Do you use pocket pages? Traditional layouts? Or a combination of the two?
- Do you document along the way with photos and notes on places you’ve been and what you did?
I’ve tried all of the above to some degree or another. If it’s a trip that our entire family is going on, I have more photos and have either made an entire album dedicated to the trip or have made it a large part of our yearly album. But if it’s just my husband and I on the trip, I will just include some of my favourite photos in a few spreads in our yearly album.
I have so many albums (over 30! – and those are just the 12×12 albums) that I’m running out of room to store them! I’ve decided to try something a little different with this upcoming trip. I’ve created a travel journal and plan on documenting the trip and including photos along the way. My goal is to have the trip fully documented by the time we get home. I’ll let you know how it goes;)
The journal itself is a travellers notebook insert that I created myself. I raided my scrapbook papers and a few other supplies to create something fun that I’ll want to work in every day. Here’s a quick flip through of the album I created.
I also gathered a few basic supplies to take with me.
Here’s a list of what I’m taking:
- Planner Society travellers notebook which includes some Project Life cards and a few other things to embellish my pages.
- A watercolor paint pallet and an Aqua Painter – to add some color to some of my pages or add some brush lettering.
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Mini paper cutter
- An assortment of pens and a pencil
- Washi tape
- Polaroid pocket printer and extra paper
I will definitely share my finished album with you when we return home – hopefully completely finished. We’ll see … my intentions are always good but I don’t always follow through:)
Have a creative day!
