Today I’m sharing another round of from sketch to card projects. I was inspired by 3 sketches from page 22 of the 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! catalogue. And because it was still on my desk, I chose to use the Poised Peony stamp set and Unbounded Beauty dsp.
Sketch #1
The first sketch I chose is a simple one. It can be as simple as a banner on a card front with a bit of twine. However, I chose to add a few layers.
Adding a layer of pattern paper is a simple way to step up any of the sketches. So I added a panel to the card base and then a narrow strip to the top of the banner. I chose to stamp an image on the banner but you could make the banner a piece of pattern paper and simply add a greeting. There really are so many options with sketches. It’s one of the reasons I love them so much.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Unbounded Beauty DSP: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and scraps for inside
- Basic White: 3″ x 4-1/4″ and 2″ x 3″
- White Twine
- Shimmer Gems: x3
In the video linked below, I share a layout that I created using this same sketch.
Sketch #2
For the second sketch, I chose to use 3 different pattern papers, in slightly larger sizes than those listed above, as the background pieces. I also changed out the circle to an oval.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Unbounded Beauty DSP: 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (x2); 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and scraps for inside
- Basic White: 3″ x 4″ for stamping & die cutting
- Pretty in Pink Ribbon: 3-1/2″ fringe
- Twine: 8″
- Resin Dots: x3
Sketch #3
This is another great simple sketch! I love how the largest panel isn’t centred, it lines up with the right side of the card. This isn’t something I think of doing. Another great reason to love sketches – it can help you try something a little different than your usual. I’m guilty of getting into a rut and doing the same things over and over. Sketches inspire me to get creative.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
- Unbounded Beauty DSP: 3-1/2″ x 5″ and scraps for inside

- Summer Splash: 1/2″ x 3-1/4′
