Today I’m sharing a couple variations of a portrait diagonal joy fold card. I love a simple fun fold. Folds that don’t require any finicky measurements and come together quickly. Those are my favourites.
This particular card has lots of pieces, only because I decided to add lots of layers. The fold itself only requires two pieces. Check out the video towards the bottom of this post to see how it all comes together.
Measurements:
- Cinnamon Cider: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ (cut diagonally from the top left by the score line, to the lower right) and 3″ x 8″ scored at 4″
- Pale Papaya: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (x2) – cut one piece diagonally from top left to bottom right; 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ (x2)
- Basic White: 2-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ (x2) and scrap
- Heart & Home DSP: Woodgrain Pattern 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and Cinnamon Cider Pattern 3-7/8″ x 5″ cut diagonally from upper left to lower right.
- Vellum: scrap
- Linen Thread:
Lift up the flap and this is what you see.
Then open the card and here’s what it looks like.
And here’s a diagonal joy fold card created with the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.
Both of these cards feature bundles that are part of the Savings are in Bloom promotion which runs until the end of March or while supplies last. Find all the details here.
Check out the video for a walk through on how to create a diagonal joy fold card.

This is a beautiful card and I would like to save it to Pinterest so that I can refer back to it later, but when I click on the Pinterest icon it doesn’t ask where to save it. What am I missing.
I enjoyed watching your video and you are very easy to follow.

Hmmm I’m not sure why this is happening. Are you signed in to Pinterest on the device you’re trying to pin from?
