Dasher Petal Fold Card

As a stamper I always find my desk cluttered with extra little things that I pulled out to use or stamped and then changed my mind. I normally just put all these little extras or leftovers into a basket just in case I need them for another project. Well my basket is overflowing! So I decided I need to start creating with them while they are still on my desk instead of just filing them away, never to be used or seen again. That is how I came to make this card.

I just finished up some custom wedding invites for a client and had an extra chocolate petal fold card left on my desk. The Dasher image was left over from my 12 Weeks until Christmas project. So I decide to combine the two and create a Christmas card. I’m really happy with the result and to have gotten both of these off my desk and onto something useful! Because most of it was done already, it only took me about 10 minutes to finish it off.

Here’s a photo of it with the belly band off. The card is about 5-1/8″ square.

This is a photo of the inside. Dasher is done in soft suede but the card base in chocolate chip. I would have kept the browns consistent if I hadn’t been using up pieces from my desk but I think overall it still works together.

So here’s a challenge to you. The next time you have some leftover images, scraps or other bits & pieces on your desk – use them right then and there. Create a quick little project – a simple card, tag or scrapbook page. Trust me it will feel good to get those bits off your workspace and onto a project!
