I decided before we went to Hawaii that I wasn’t going to do a separate album for our trip. I just wanted to include it in with our 2015 album. I also knew that some of the photos would be scrapbooked traditionally and many of them in Project Life pocket pages, just like the rest of the album. I love to combine the two – I think it gives you the best of both worlds.
So today I thought I’d share a few pages that I did to document out trip to Diamond Head.
This will be the left side. I included a brochure in a vellum envelope with the flap (opens on the side) cut off so that you can still access the brochure but it protects the photos. The little accents (arrow, stars and heart) are all from the Moments Like These accessory pack.
I decided to do some of the journaling on strips of cardstock – you’ll see this repeated a few times. The day we went to Diamond Head, we rented bikes and biked to the base of the crater, locked up our bikes and then hiked the rest of the way.
This will be the page on the right. I used a couple of the cards from the Moments Like These card collection and included the entrance ticket. As you can see, I repeated the same style journaling.
Then if you flip that page over, you come to this.
I love that I can keep it super simple if that’s what I want. The photos really do all the talking here.
Then this is the right page. I included the story of our trip up – because there’s always a story to tell in our family:) – some photos from the top and added a couple little accents.
I punched this out from one of the 3×4 cards in the card collection and then just added a couple little flags in colors that coordinated.
This was a tag that was on one of our pillow gifts and the color matched so I decided to include it in there as well.
I still have a panoramic photo to print off that I’d like to include but I might do a separate traditional layout with that. I’m not sure just yet. But it’s a great start to documenting our trip!
Have a creative day!
Sherry
