Today I’m sharing a few ideas on how to create a rustic fall themed card. The words rustic and fall go together like bread and butter but these tips can be used to create a vintage look any time of the year.
It’s not difficult to create a vintage look. Here are three ideas you can use alone, or all together, to get that rustic feel to your projects.
- Ink to paper – this can be by ink blending, sponging, using a sponge dauber or direct to paper technique.
- Crumpling or tearing card stock – this adds texture and dimension to a project
- Adding a variety of textures – including fibres, embossing, embellishments, fabric, etc.
In the sample above I’ve combined all three to create this beautiful rustic fall themed card. I did some ink blending around the edges of almost all my layers. The leaf was crumpled for added dimension and I included some silver threaded twine for some added texture.
I shared this card in today’s Facebook live but I can’t seem to upload it to Youtube. If you’d like to catch the replay you can find it here.
I hope you enjoyed these simple ideas on how to create a rustic feel to your projects.
Until next time,
