3 Beautiful Birthday Card Ideas

In this post I’m sharing 3 beautiful birthday card ideas using Stampin’ Up!’s® Branching Out bundle. A great thing about these cards is that you can switch out the greetings and turn them into cards for any occasion! The Branching Out bundle is just so versatile – especially the dies!

I love that the dies are complementary dies. This means that none of them cut out the stamped images, so they can be used with ANY of the sets in your collection!

Birthday Card 1

This first card highlights a fun way that you can use the dies. I cut the 2nd largest rectangle die from a piece of white card stock. Then nested that die with the 4th largest rectangle and cut out a frame from a scrap piece of card stock to use as a template for some ink blending. Simply line up the frame with your white rectangle tack it down with some washi tape and blend the centre. When you remove the frame, you’re left with a wonderful background.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
• Basic White: 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ die cut with 2nd largest rectangle; 3/8″ x 3-1/2″ for greeting
• Shaded Spruce Ribbon: 6″ cut so it’s thinner.

Birthday Card 2

The second card can be recreated using any pattern paper but I used the Autumn Toile DSP. It’s a great masculine card but I think it would also serve well as a sympathy card.

The ink blending around the edges of this card makes such a big difference!

Measurements:

• Crumb Cake: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
• Autumn Toile DSP: 3-1/2″ x 5″ die cut 2nd largest rectangle; 1/2″ x 4″ (inside)
• Very Vanilla: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside) and 5/8″ x 3-1/2″
• Early Espresso: 2-1/2″ x 4″ – die cut pine branch
• Early Espresso Twine: 8″

Birthday Card 3

I love this last card but feel like it looks better in person. The photo doesn’t do it justice! Be sure to check out the video I shared above to see how I used the smallest rectangle die to create this smaller rectangle.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
• Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5″ embossed with the Exposed Brick EF; 1-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ for die cutting sprigs; 2″ x 3″ for die cutting label
• Pool Party: 2″ x 4″
