Welcome to the Scrapbooking Global March 2024 blog hop. Thank you so much for joining us. This months theme is celebrating hobbies. Scrapbooking is definitely a hobby of mine and I considered doing a layout on that but instead chose to do something a little different:)
As part of the Scrapbooking Global design team we participate in a monthly blog hop and challenges but anyone can join in if they’d like. We’d love to have you join us! Be sure to join the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Facebook Group so you know when the sign up starts for our next hop.
I’m working in a 6″ x 8″ album this year for my everyday layouts. So this is a 2-page 6″ x 8″ layout documenting my love of reading. For a big part of my life I’ve loved to read. However, when we had kids there wasn’t much time and I stopped. During COVID I started back up and I’m so glad I did. I had forgotten how much joy reading provided.
The layout includes photos of my favourite spot to read, my TBR (to be read) book stack, my reading journal, a page inside and the reading blanket my husband bought me for Christmas. Such a fun little collection of photos to document my love of reading.
The Details…
- The base of the layout is a pattern paper from the Delightfully Eclectic paper pack. I distressed around the edges with my snips and even added a few little tears and some black splatter. I was going for a worn page look.
- For the title I used a variety of things…
- the #4 was cut from the Alphabet a la Mode dies
- Books was cut from the Mini Alphabet dies
- Love was cut from one of the patterned papers in the Delightfully Eclectic paper pack
- ‘the’ and ‘of’ were stamped using a Kerri Bradford stamp set
- The books and the owls are from the Birds Eye View stamp set and were stamped using Memento ink and coloured in using Stampin’ Blends.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Hop on over to Sharon Dalton’s blog to see what she has created and then continue along for more hobby inspiration.
Until next time,
