In today’s post I’m sharing the 6×8 album title page I created for this years album. I used scraps to create it, just like I did for the cards in last weeks video and I love how it turned out!
The idea of creating a semi circle layout has been floating around in my head for a few months now and I thought it was time to give it a try!
How it was created…
I used a paper plate to trace the circle on a 6″ x 8-1/2″ piece of white card stock then used scissors to cut it out. Before adhering my strips I measured the spine of a pocket page so that I knew how much space to leave for my holes. I made a score line to use as my guide.
To create the background I pulled out some paper packs that I knew would coordinate with the colour scheme I wanted to use. That colour combination came right from one of the 4″ x 6″ cards in the Sweet Thoughts Memories & More card collection. It’s the one with the bright colours and patterns. I’ve linked the various paper packs below.
I couldn’t find any calypso coral pattern paper that would work and really wanted to include that colour so I decided to make my own. I used the word ‘Memories’ from Love this Memory stamp set and stamped it in coral on a 1/4″ strip of coral card stock. Then I used my black marker to add a little dot in between each of the words.
The butterfly was from the paper butterflies and I coloured it with Stampin’ Blends and then added a bit of shimmer using my wink of stella brush.
This last photo shows you how it looks in my album. I purposefully used similar products on that layout knowing that you’d see parts of it peeking through. I’ll be sharing that layout with you next week:)
Until next time,
