In today’s post I’m sharing 5 slimline Christmas cards using the Reindeer Days collection that will be released with the upcoming September to December mini catalogue on September 4th. The cards are created from 2 sheets of 6″ x 12″ pattern paper. It’s almost like a one sheet wonder except I wanted a bit more variety so I used two different patterns. They could, however, be created using one sheet of 12×12.
You can see how I cut the pattern paper by watching the video below, or using this pattern paper cutting guide I created. I ended up with a couple smaller pieces left at the end one of which I used to create a tag.
Portrait Cards
Measurements (supplies are for both cards):
- Real Red/Garden Green: 7″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 3-1/2″ (these are your card bases)
- Basic White: 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ (x2) (for inside your cards); 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ for die cutting a circle and scraps for stamping
- Real Red: 3-1/8″ x 8-1/8″ ; 1/4″ x 8″ and 1/4″ x 3″ (x4); 2″ x 5″ for die cutting tag
- Granny Apple Green: 3-1/8″ x 8-1/8″
- Reindeer Days DSP: 3″ x 8″ (x2) and 2″ x 3″ (x3)
- Real Red & White Twine: 16″
- Peppermints: x6
Landscape Cards
Measurements (for both cards):
- Granny Apple Green: 7″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 3-1/2″ (x2) for card bases; 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ for die cutting a circle
- Granny Apple Green: 3-1/8″ x 8-1/8″ (x2); 1/2″ x 3″ (x4); 2″ x 5″ for die cutting tag and 2″ x 2″ for die cutting wreath
- Basic White: 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ (x2) for insides; 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for die cutting circle; 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ for die cutting 2 tags
- Pecan Pie: 2″ x 2″ for die cutting deer
- Early Espresso: 2-1/2″ x 2″ for die cutting deer
- Crumb Cake: 2″ x 2″ for die cutting deer
- Real Red: 1″ x 1″ for die cutting bow
- Reindeer Fun DSP: 3″ x 6″ (x2); 2″ x 3″ (x4)
- Garden Green Twine: 16″
- Peppermint Dots: x4
Leftover Pieces
This final card uses the leftover pieces.
Measurements:
- Garden Green: 7″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 3-1/2″
- Basic White: 3-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ (for inside); 3-1/8″ x 8-1/8″ ; 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for die cutting circle
- Granny Apple Green: 3″ x 8″ embossed using the Forever Plaid embossing folder; 1″ x 3-1/4″ (for inside)
- Real Red: 1/4″ x 3-1/8″; 1/4″ x 2″ (x2)
- Reindeer Fun DSP: 2-1/2″ x 3-1/8″ and 1/2″ x 3-1/4″
- Real Red & White Twine: 8″
- Peppermint Dots: x3
