In todays blog post I’m sharing how you can get 5 beautiful Christmas cards from one 12×12 piece of patterned paper. These cards are simple and can be recreated over and over using your favourite double sided patterned paper.
Measurements:
In the video linked at the bottom of this post, I share how to cut the patterned paper so that there’s no waste.
- 1 sheet of 12″ x 12″ double sided patterned paper (works best if the patterns are not directional): cut into 4 pieces that measure 5″ x 6″ and 4 pieces that measure 1″ x 5″. You’ll end up with a 2″ x 2″ square save that for decorating at the end.
- Mossy Meadow: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (x2) and 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ (x2)
- Cherry Cobbler: 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (x2) and 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ (x2)
- Thick White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White: 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ (x2) and scraps for die cutting
All 5 of these designs, especially the first 4 really highlight both sides of the patterned paper. They are great designs for those patterns where you love both sides of the paper.
It’s hard to tell from this photo but the holy patterned paper lifts up. There isn’t a lot of room to write a message on this particular card but in the video below, I share a few ideas on how you can get around that if you have a longer message to write.
These next two cards are pocket cards. So the white piece slides out. This design would also work well as a gift card holder.
Between all 5 of these cards, I used a whole sheet of 12×12 paper… even the scraps.
To use up some of the scraps I decorated the inside of this one. You can see what it looks like in the video below.
Until next time,

Not sure how I found you but i’m so glad I did! Loved your cut and shuffle videos and this wonderful one sheet wonder is superb.
Not able to use most of what you did but I have 20 years backlog of unused SU stuff. That’s enough to keep me busy for a LONG time using what I’ve learned from you in the past three days. I can’t thank you enough. Because I am homebound and making cards with much stamping or coloring due to my arthritic hands, I can cut paper, which I love to do. I can’t bear to throw away even tiny scraps of beautiful paper…and, usually, I can create cards or tags using them. I use my Sizzix Express (motorized) for cutting and embossing, and really GOOD days I can use my trimmer. So there you go, between watching your wonderful videos and having a couple of good days, I’ll be busy putting them all together. That’s the HARD part. But I love every minute of this craft.

This video was incredible! You demonstrated so well that I have no doubt of being able to replicate the cards with my own paper. Thank you so much.
