In todays post I’m sharing 4 creative ways to use your dies. I’m sure there are many, many more ways but I’ve chosen my favourites to share with you in hopes that they inspire you to think outside the box.
Although I’ve used the Conversation Bubbles dies and coordinating stamp set for all of the projects I’m sharing with you today, you can easily use these ideas with many of your dies.
Creative Ways to Use Your Dies
Be sure to check out the video linked towards the bottom of the post where I walk you through creating these cards and share tips along the way.
- Create a stencil and do some ink blending. I used a variety of shaped conversation bubbles and created a stencil and then added it over top of a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and did some ink blending. The blending was done in two colours – fresh freesia and orchid oasis.
2. Paper pierce the around the dies. Paper piercing is when you poke holes in your cardstock. You can do this in a straight line, around a punched or die cut shape or use your dies as a guide to create fun shapes like I’ve done here.
3. Die cut a window and have patterned paper peeking out from behind. In the card above, you can see a piece of the beautiful Two Toned Flora dsp peeking out from behind the speech bubble window.
4. Use your dies as a stencil and trace around them with a Stampin’ Write Marker.
For more information and a supply list for this last card, check out this blog post.
I hope these ideas inspire you to think outside the box the next time you go to use your dies.
Until next time,
