Today I’m sharing 3 creative ways to use circle dies. I’ll be focusing on the Deckled Circles dies and using it as a product focus type post which will be a new addition to my monthly share. Each month, I’m hoping to focus on a different product and a variety of ways that it can be used. I may highlight that product during a video, or it may be something you see shared in different ways over a week or even throughout the month!
I kicked off the Deckled Circles product focus a few days ago, with my magnetic bookmark video. If you missed it, you can find it here.
Although the three ideas I’m sharing with you today are created using the Deckled Circles dies, any layering circles dies can be used. To keep things simple, I’ve used the Flight & Airy pattern paper for all three projects. This paper is free with a qualifying purchase, while supplies last, or until February 29th, 2024. However, I always like to remind you that you can use these ideas with any of the products that you may have on hand. Dig into your stash, get creative and have fun!
Let’s take a look at the projects…
Deckled Circle Flap Card
This first card has part of the circle tucked behind the coral layer and lifts up like a flap (see photo below). It’s stepped up a bit from just adding the circle right on top of the layers.
Measurements:
- Lost Lagoon (bottom layer): 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Calypso Coral: 4″ x 5″
- Basic White: 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and 2″ x 3″
- Garden Green: 2-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ (for die cutting leaves)
- Pattern Paper (Flight & Airy): 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ die cut with the 3rd largest Deckled Circle and 2-1/4″ x 6″ if you’d like to decorate the envelope flap
- White Twine: 6″
- Opaque Faceted Gems: x3
Towards the end of the post, you’ll find a link to the video where I walk you through creating all three and share a few other ideas.
The negative space from die cutting the leaves was sitting on my desk and I thought it would be nice if I used it as a stencil to add a bit of detail to the inside of the card. A nice subtle addition to the inside.
Deckled Circle Card
The second card is just a circular card. There are several different ways to do this. I simply die cut two of the same size circle, one from pattern paper and the other from card stock. Then I folded the card stock circle in half and attached the pattern paper circle to one side of the folded piece.
For a better look at this card, check out the video towards the bottom of this post.
Measurements:
- Fresh Freesia: 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ cut with 3rd largest circle
- Flight & Airy Pattern Paper: 5-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ cut with the 3rd largest circle; 1-3/4″ x 6″ for the envelope flap and a fussy cut bird.
- Basic White: 5″ x 5″ cut with the 4th largest circle and the cut in half and added to the inside; 3″ x 4″ for greeting.
- Vellum: 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ cut with 5th largest circle
- White Twine: about 18″
- Tinsel Gems 3-pag: x3
Deckled Circle Treat Holder
This little treat holder holds 4 Hershey’s nuggets but can be recreated to fit any smaller treat. In the video below I share how to figure out your dimensions and which size circle die to use.
Measurements:
- Flight & Airy pattern paper: 6″ x 6″ ; 1″ x 3″ (x4) strips to cover nuggets and fussy cut bird
- Basic White: 1″ x 5″
- Boho Blue Jutte: about 8″
- Tinsel Gems: x2

I hope you enjoyed these three creative ways to use circle dies. I’ll be back on Monday with a creative way to use circle dies on a scrapbook layout.
Until next time,
