We are back to Memory Keeping Mondays with a peek at my Travellers Notebook travel journal from our trip to Italy and Greece this past summer. Confession time… it’s not done:|
I know, I know the point of a travel journal is to document the trip while you are on it. I always have good intentions and try to make it as easy as possible for myself. It doesn’t matter how much pre planning I do, I ALWAYS come home with an incomplete journal. However, what I am really good at is finishing it up in a reasonable amount of time.
I had the opportunity to work on it a bit this past weekend while at a retreat and I’m happy to say that it is almost done. Just a couple more stories to tell. I will share a flip through video when it’s complete. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a couple of the layouts.
For this years travel journal I used the notebook that came in the Websters Pages Travellers Notebook that Stampin’ Up! sent us with our travel documents. Using a travellers notebook is my favourite travel journal so I was SO excited when I got that package back in May! I have a whole collection of these TNs that I love flipping through. Some of them are notebooks I have purchased and others I have made myself.
My inspiration came from the TN that Kim Jeffress created for her European trip. She created these adorable title pages for each of the places they were visiting. I took that idea and used it for my travel journal. These ‘title pages’ were all done before we left for our trip. I simply left a few pages in between each so that I’d have room to document that stop.
The in between pages look more like this. Very simple with photos and journaling as the focus. I brought along a small assortment of embellishments to decorate the pages. But kept that assortment very small so that I didn’t get overwhelmed with choices.
Bringing a few 3×4 cards allowed me to add some ‘tip ins’ if I needed extra space for journaling or to add more photos than space allowed.
This travellers notebook travel journal is really about documenting the memories of the trip in stories. I plan on adding some of my favourite photos to our family album as well.
Have a creative day!
