The Emboss Resist Technique 2 Ways

Today I’m sharing the emboss resist technique 2 ways. I chose to create the same card with just a few modifications. This is a great time saving card making trick. Why spend your limited crafting time designing another card when you can simply reuse a design you like. Just switch out the colours and or the products and you can get a completely different look. I chose to do just that for the two cards in todays post.

I have to admit, I don’t emboss as much as I should. It’s so pretty and there are so many fun techniques you can do with embossing. I really need to pull out the supplies and do it more often.

Just for You Card

For this first card I stamped the butterflies from the Labeled with Love stamp set, with VersaMark all over a piece of Summer Splash card stock. Then I sprinkled them with clear embossing powder and heat set them. To add a bit of variation in colour on the card stock, I did a bit of ink blending around the edges and then used a tissue to rub the ink off the embossed images.

Measurements:

Coastal Cabana: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
Summer Splash: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside); 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ for die cutting the circle and scraps for stamping
Summer Splash Ribbon: 10″ (fibers)
White Ribbon: 10″ (fibers)
Iridescent Pearls: x3

Thanks Friend Card

The second card follows the same layout but I chose to switch out the colours and change out the background. It’s embossed just like the first card except on white card stock. Then instead of just going around the edges, I added ink over the whole thing in three different colours – Daffodil Delight, Summer Splash and Misty Moonlight.
