Today’s project is a non Valentine heart layout. Sometimes when I see hearts and the colour combination red and pink, I have a hard time seeing past Valentine’s Day. When I saw the From My Heart Suite I challenged myself to see past its intended purpose and use it for so much more.
You’ll find another layout I created to meet this challenge here. I’ve also shared a few other samples in my Facebook VIP group.
Although today’s project only uses the dsp from the From My Heart suite, I think it does a good job of showing how versatile it can be. I even threw in a heart shaped cut file to make it a bit more challenging to use the red and pink paper. I LOVE how it turned out!
To create the splatter background I cut open one of our 6″ x 8″ cello bags and rubbed the flirty flamingo ink pad onto the bag and misted it with some water. I then flipped it upside down, over my white card stock, and flicked it to give it a bit of a splatter and to get rid of some of the excess water. The last step was to place it onto the card stock and gently rub it to transfer the rest of the ink. I ended up lifting it and moving it and repeating that last step. It’s a quick & easy way to get a fun background without much of a mess!
I encourage you to give it a try!
Have a creative day.
