Today I’m sharing this Kindest Gnomes warm wishes card with you. The Kindest Gnomes bundle is part of the adorable Storybook Gnomes suite from the July to December 2022 mini catalogue.
This is such a fun suite of products. I love everything from the colours, the adorable images in the set, the fabulous coordinating dies and those gems!!
I have to admit though I’ve had this sitting in my collection for a very long time and just finally pulled it out to start planning for my class that will be part of the upcoming Stamp Cafe. You can find all the details for the August 27th Stamp Cafe event here. Here’s a little peek at 2 of the 4 projects we’ll be making in the Storybook Gnome class.
Although I’m not using any of the Storybook Gnomes dsp on this particular project, you could substitute the embossed vellum layer with a layer of dsp or die cut one of the cute gnomes from the dsp instead of the stamped gnome.
I just love how the background turned out on this card. I wanted to have a glow from the lantern around the gnome. To achieve this look, I started with a piece of balmy blue card stock and used some crushed curry ink and a blending brush to add the yellow ‘glow’. Then I went in with some balmy blue ink beginning on the outside of the balmy blue card stock and working my way in. Next up came a layer of night of navy ink but I didn’t blend in quite as far. The final step was to add some snowflake splatter. To do this I used some watered down white ink refill and my water painter.
