Happy Wednesday! I’ve got a Friendly Flamingo silhouette card to share with you today. This was one of the cards that didn’t make the cut for last weeks daily lives featuring the Friendly Flamingo bundle. I like the way it turned out it just had a different vibe to it than the others did.
If you missed last weeks projects you can find them in this blog post.
To create the background I tore a piece of scrap paper and positioned it partway up a piece of white card stock as a mask. Then I used my blending brushes with some daffodil delight ink to add a layer of yellow ink . I grabbed a die cut circle from my scrap bin and masked off an area that I wanted to be the sun and then used the blending brushes to add a layer of pumpkin pie ink. To finish it off the sunset, I added a layer of terracotta tile around the outer edges.
To do the water, I took the top half of the torn paper and lined it up over top of my sunset and then used my foam brayer (which is retiring) and some memento black ink. When I was happy with the colouring, I used reed stamp and stamped that over top several times.
I left the card without a sentiment so that I could use it for anything but on the layer of white that I added on the inside I did use my blending brushes and some terracotta tile ink to add a bit of colour around the edges.
