In todays post I’m sharing an Exploring in Color Paper Pumpkin alternate with you – a scrapbook layout! I love to use any of our kits (Paper Pumpkin or from our Kit Collection) to scrapbook.
The Exploring in Color Paper Pumpkin kit is the May 2023 kit and includes all the supplies to create 9 cards. Three of each of the three designs shown below.
If you are new to Stampin’ Up! and wondering what Paper Pumpkin is? It is the BEST crafting subscription kit!
Every month you receive a box full of crafty goodness. It includes everything you need to create whatever that months projects are (except scissors). That means you get an exclusive stamp set, ink, any embellishments and all the pre cut and scored pieces! Most months the projects are cards but occasionally there will be 3D projects or tags.
Don’t miss out on next months kit! If you’re in Canada, subscribe here, before the 10th of the month in order to receive the June kit.
Let’s take a look…
I decided to do a 2-page layout with some photos I took at our Flor & Fjaere garden tour when we were in Scavanger, Norway. The colours and scenic backgrounds on the card bases were perfect! I love that the scenic pattern covers the front and back of the card. This provides so much more versatility – especially when it comes to scrapbooking.
I started by taking one of the card bases and cutting off 1/4″ from both ends. Then I cut the rest into 1″ strips and adhered them to a 5-3/4″ x 12″ strip of basic black card stock. Before adhering it to the background (a piece of Fresh as a Daisy dsp), I added a little ruffle to the bottom using the tissue paper that came in the box.
Embellishments were kept to a minimum and include a cluster of the stamped images and then a few of the fabulous greetings that are included in the exclusive stamp set.
Although the full kit is no longer available, at the time of writing this post, the refill kit is available (163160). It includes all the consumable pieces just no stamp set or ink spot. The cost is $15 + shipping & taxes and can only be purchased if you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
Here’s a closer look at the pages.
And the facing page which includes a few flip ups to reveal additional photos and journaling. I managed to include seven 3″ x 4″ photos on this one (+ the two on the facing page). Photo heavy layouts are not usually my thing but I couldn’t narrow it down!
Check out the video below, if you’d like to see how this layout comes together.
Until next time,
