In today’s post I’m sharing several Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin alternatives. From one box, I created 10 cards, 6 of which I’m sharing in today’s post, two 6″ x 8″ layouts and the 3 cards and 12″ x 12″ layout in this post .
Let’s start with the two 6″ x 8″ layouts…
I had some of the shapes left that I used for this layout so I used them to create a border on this first layout. The background is a piece of basic beige card stock and it was stamped with a couple of the images from the Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin stamp set. There were a scraps of lost lagoon and basic gray card stock on my desk that I ended up using to mat my photo.
For this second 6″ x 8″ layout, I filmed a quick video of how it was put together.
On to the cards…
It’s easy to get more cards from a kit when you cut the card bases down and use them as panels on a card base. That’s what I did with a couple of the card bases. Everything except the vanilla baker’s twine and the basic beige card base came from the kit.
This kit makes great sympathy cards so I added in a greeting from the Something Fancy stamp set. I cut a window from the basic gray panel, using the label shape from the Thanks & Beyond dies. Then added the panel with the butterfly behind it. The gold foil then went behind that so you can see it behind the wings. In addition to basic beige and basic gray card stock, I also added in some retired basic gray baker’s twine and some iridescent foil gems.
This next card is another window card. I just filled the window with a different butterly.
Sometimes the supplies are so pretty not much is needed!
Using the scraps…
I used the leftover scraps to create this fun pattern, using adhesive sheets on a piece of scrap paper. Then I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine using the ‘thanks’ die from the Thanks & Beyond dies. I love how it turned out and will definitely be trying that with a few other dies.
There comes a point when I get tired of crafting with a collection. I reached that point and still had a few scraps and one of the white card bases left. I cut up the white card base and used it inside a couple of the cards with a few of the leftover butterflies. Then called it quits. Ten cards and 3 layouts is pretty good from one kit!
Until next time,
Shopping List
In addition to these supplies, I also used some Basic Beige card stock and ink (both available May 1st) and some retired basic gray baker’s twine. Unfortunately, the Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin kit isn’t available, however, at the time of writing this post the refill kit (164395) was still available.
