A Simple DIY Card Set

In this post I’m sharing a simple DIY card set. All that is required are a few basic supplies and a package of the Covered in Flowers Accents and you’ve got a stunning set of cards ready to give or gift.

The Covered in Flowers Accents are white paperboard pre-cut designs that are ready to use as-is or can easily be customized with ink, pencils, or blending tools. If you aren’t a fan of fussy cutting and are looking for something quick & easy – this is the solution!

The Details…

Here’s a closer look at one of the cards that I created. Once I created the first one, I chose to keep the same basic design but use a different focal point.

I wasn’t looking for a detailed design so I chose to keep the pieces in the flowers. To do so I used some tear and tape at the back to keep the pieces in place. It doesn’t look very pretty but no one sees the back of the flowers.

Once the pieces were secured in place, I used blending brushes to add some colour.

The card base is a piece of basic beige card stock and the next layer is the light side of a basic beige two-tone card stock (3-3/4″ x 5″).  I wanted to the look of texture to it (without using my die cutting machine) so I pulled out the Lasting Linen background stamp. Any background set, or embossing folder would work. Then distressed around the edges.

Each of the focal points is popped up with dimensionals. Both my greetings come from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and are stamped with early espresso ink. Any narrow greeting would work though.

To finish off the cards I added a linen thread bow and some embellishments. This is almost always how I finish off my projects. It’s amazing what something as simple as a bow can add to a project.

Now I’ve got a beautiful set of cards that I can package and gift to someone!
