In today’s post I’m sharing my 2026 reading journal set up. I’m continuing in my Leuchtturm 1917 notebook. It’s the same one I’ve been using as a reading journal since 2023.
I decided to go with a more vintage vibe this year. A friend picked up a book lovers junk journal book (by Ciao Bella Paper) for me that includes some pattern paper, stickers and ephemera that I thought would be perfect for decorating my reading journal.
A Closer Look…
For the title page I added a piece of pattern paper and then tore the page so that it wasn’t as wide as the others. The year was stamped on the next page which was cut down so that it’s a little shorter than the third page. Then on the third page, I added another strip of pattern paper down the right side of the page and included my colour coded legend.
This will be what I use for identifying the genres of the books I read on my book shelf page (shown below).
This book tracker is a printable from PaperJoyCa. Last year I didn’t have a colour coded legend. But I’d like to be able to see, at a glance, what type of books I’m reading most often.
I have a goal of 120 books this year. That’s a combination of physical, kindle and audiobooks. I added another colour coded legend on this page so that I can see how many books in each category I read.
This next page is my book club title page. Our book club meets every second month. I plan on doing a page review on each of the books we read this year. I don’t do that for every book I read but will for our book club books. So I’ve left 6 pages blank to add these in.
Then I move on to my monthly reads title page.
This spread will be where I record the books I read in January. I’ll print out a little photo of each book and give it a star rating.
I chose not to create the February through December spreads because I may need more space than just the two pages I have here. So this gives me the flexibility to add in a page if needed.
You can see a flip through of my reading journal here.
Until next time,
