For this week’s memory keeping Monday post I thought I’d share an update on my coffee themed mini album. Over the weekend I spent a bit of time adding a couple pages to the album.
You can find a flip through of the album here. And a tutorial on how to make the album here.
This album is where I document trips to various local coffee shops. About a year and a half ago, a friend and I decided to start visiting local coffee shops. We try to go every couple weeks, but it doesn’t always work out. It’s a great opportunity for us to just catch up, try something new and support local. Initially I was documenting these trips with my everyday scrapbooking. However, when SU! released the A Little Latte suite, I knew a mini album had to be made:)
Let’s Take a Look…
Non of the pages are very elaborate. I’ve been keeping them pretty simple and trying to use up scraps and odds & ends when I can. This first two-page spread documents our trip to Rhubarb Cafe & Cocktails where we tried a couple of flights. If you are local to the Edmonton and surrounding areas, I highly recommend a trip to this cafe in Manchester Square. Such a fun area to visit.
I included a hidden tag with a bit of journaling on it because I couldn’t decide where to add it. This is a great way to include the details, or extra photos, on a small layout.
Next up I created an insert for one of the pockets documenting a trip to Be Coffee – another fabulous coffee shop. Love, love, love the vibes of this coffee shop! My daughter and I visited this one for a planner date:) We both love planners so we will set up a coffee/planner date every few months.
I had a few more photos than what would fit on one 6×6 page, so I decorated both front & back.
This coffee shop had hexagons everywhere – take a look at the ceiling! So I decided to use hexagons on my layout. They were die cut using the Something Fancy dies and then embossed using the Cute Crochet embossing folder. I just love the subtle detail it adds to a plain white background.
For my journaling, I stamped the lines from the Love this Moment stamp set. It seemed like a perfect way to add a journaling spot for a planner date:)
I still have so many more coffee shops to document! They definitely won’t all fit in this one album.
Until next time,
