Changing Leaves Card Ideas

Today I’m sharing three Changing Leaves card ideas. I’m a sucker for anything fall related. Leaves seem to me seem to be like flowers are to lots of others. I need all the leaves! So when I saw the Changing Leaves hybrid bundle from the online exclusives it went straight into my shopping basket.

For today’s projects I’m combining it with a bit of Thoughtful Journey dsp and the Greetings of the Season dies. I created all three of these cards in todays live, you can catch the replay below.

Let’s take a closer look…

Embossing & cutting at the same time? Yes please! I love hybrid bundles. For this 1st card I’m sharing how I used the stamps with blending brushes, how to cut & emboss at the same time and how to get more from that embossed image.

Measurements:

• Wild Wheat: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and 1-3/4″ x 3″ (cut label shape)
• Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside); 3-3/4″ x 5″ and 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ (cut label shape)
• Blackberry Bliss: 6″ x 6″ emboss and cut
• Mossy Meadow: 6″ x 6″ emboss & cut
• Thoughtful Journey DSP: 2-1/4″ x 3″ – cut three sprigs
• Cream Woven Ribbon: 4″
• Textured Dots: x3
• Linen Thread

For the second card, we are doing a bit of the packaging technique over top of our embossed image and adding a bit of colour to one of the stamped leaves.

Measurements:

• Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″
• Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (embossed); 1″ x 3-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″
• Mossy Meadow: leaf from card 1
• Wild Wheat: 2-1/2″ x 3″
• Blackberry Bliss: 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
• Linen Thread: 16″
• Speckled Dots: x3

Finishing it off with a fun fold

The last card is a simple fun fold card. I just love how the clusters of leaves come together.

Measurements:

• Wild Wheat: 6-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 2″ from one short end and 2″ x 4-1/4″ for die cutting leaves
• Blackberry Bliss: 4-3/4″ x 6-1/4″ scored at 3-1/2″ from one short end; 2-5/8″ x 4-5/8″ embossed; 2″ x 2″ for 2 sprigs and a leftover leaf from card 1
• Basic White: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ (inside); 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ (die cut label) ; 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ x 3″
• Thoughtful Journey DSP: 1-7/8″ x 5-3/8″
• Transparent Dots: x3
• Ribbon: 4″
• Linen Thread: 16″
