Today I’m sharing some masculine card ideas and how you can create 8 cards using one sheet of 12 x 12 pattern paper. Although I’ve created mine as masculine cards, this one sheet wonder idea can be used over and over using different pattern paper and bundles.
Here’s what you’ll need to create the 8 cards:
- One sheet of double sided pattern paper. I’m using a retired piece from Stampin’ Up!’s Trusty Toolbox paper pack. It helps if you choose a pattern that isn’t directional.
- Four pieces of 8-1/2″ x 11″ card stock in a coordinating colour. I’ve used black.
- Two sheets of basic white, or another neutral.
- Two thick white card bases, or another colour that coordinates.
- Scraps in coordinating colours. I’ve pulled out Poppy Parade, Gray Granite
- A bundle with greetings, ink pads to coordinate, ribbon, or twine and embellishments
- If your stamped images require colouring, you can also pull some way to colour them in. I’ve used Stampin’ Blends.
In this post I’m sharing 4 cards using 1/2 a sheet of pattern paper. To create the 8 cards, simply make 2 of each card:) I walk you through cutting the paper and card stock and assembling the cards in the video below.
Happy Father’s Day Card
The first card I’m sharing is a Father’s Day card. However, if you don’t have a need for Father’s Day cards, simply switch out the greeting with something similar in size.
Measurements:
- Basic Black: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ and a scrap (this piece will be leftover from one of the cuts we make)
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and 3/4″ x 4″ (x2)
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside) and scraps for stamping
- Black Twine: about 8″
- Metallic Dots: x3
Thank You Card
The second card is a thank you card and a bit of a fun fold. I know I’m going to get questions about how this card stands up – it doesn’t. For these types of cards, I have little easels that I stand them on but you can also rotate the card so that it’s landscape if you want it to stand.
Measurements:
- Basic Black: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ and the front cut diagonally; 2-5/8″ x 4″ (cut from one of the scraps)
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (cut diagonally) and 3/4″ x 4″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (inside) and scrap for stamping
- Gray Granite: 2-3/4″ x 3-7/8″ embossed with the Metal Plate EF
- Black Twine: about 8″
- Metallic Dots: x3
You’re the Most Awesome Card
I love this greeting ‘You’re the Most Awesome’ because you can then stamp the inside with a happy birthday, thank you or happy Father’s Day. Almost anything will work.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Pattern Paper: diagonal piece leftover from the thank you card
- Basic Black: diagonal piece leftover from the thank you card with 1/4″ trimmed off the long side (this is used in card 1) and then embossed with the Metal Plate EF
- Gray Granite: 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ for die cutting
- Basic White: scraps for stamping
- Black Twine: about 8″
- Metallic Dots: x3
Criss Cross Card
This final card that I’m sharing is a criss cross pocket card. It would be great if you wanted a card to tuck a gift card into. Here it is with the insert out.
Measurements:
- Basic Black: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ ; 4-1/4″ x 6″ scored at 1/2″ from one short end and scrap for die cutting
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 5-1/4″ cut diagonally
- Basic White: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ (insert) and scrap for greeting
- Poppy Parade: scrap for die cutting
- Holographic Foil: scrap for die cutting
- Black Twine: 8″
- Metallic Dots: x3
