I’ve got a one sheet wonder using the Flight & Airy patterned paper to share with you today. This template creates 8 cards from one 12×12 piece of patterned paper with no waste! You can access the template for cutting your pattern paper here.
These cards follow the same layout and designs as the ones I created in this video using products from the Bee Mine suite.
Here’s a base supply list:
- One double sided 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper. Make sure that both sides coordinate. I used the Flight & Airy dsp (Free with qualifying purchase until Feb. 29th, 2024)
- Two 8-1/2″ x 11″ pieces of paper in coordinating colours (I chose 2 colours, Fresh Freesia and Misty Moonlight, but you can make them both the same)
- Three thick white card bases (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″)
- One 5-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ piece of white cardstock
- Four 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of white for the insides of your coloured card bases
- Coordinating Colour 1 (Fresh Freesia): 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
- Coordinating Colour 2 (Misty Moonlight): 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ and 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
These are the supplies you’ll need to create the card bases. In addition to the supplies listed above, you’ll need punches, dies, stamps, ribbon and embellishments to create your focal points. I’ve included a full supply list at the bottom of this post so you can see what I’ve used.
What’s great about this idea is that you can create these designs over and over using different patterned papers.
We are going to begin by cutting our patterned paper into nine 4″ x 4″ squares. Three of them will be cut down further but we’ll start with this. I walk you through cutting the patterned paper in this video. Or you can print off the cutting guide.
Pocket Cards
The first two cards are pocket cards. They are the same card layout. However, I chose to create them in 2 different coloured card bases, with the different sides of the dsp and embellish them a bit differently.
Here’s a look at the inside. The insert just slides out from the top.
Measurements:
- Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 1″ and 5-1/2″
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and scrap for greeting
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 4″ and 1-1/4″ x 4″ (this piece is cut from one of the 4″ x 4″ squares)
- Vellum: 2″ Circle
- Twine: 12″
- Ribbon
Cards 3 & 4
These two cards use the two leftover pieces of 4-1/4″ x 11″ coloured card for the bases. The layouts are the same, they were just embellished a little differently.
Measurements:
- Misty Moonlight/Fresh Freesia Card Bases: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
- Patterned Paper: 4″ x 4″ and fussy cut birds
- Basic White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ (x2 for inside of cards); 2″ Circle (x2); 1-1/2″ Circle
- Vellum: 2-3/8″ Circle (x2)
- Glimmer Paper: 1/2″ x 4″
- Twine: 12″ and 8″
- Misty Moonlight Ribbon
- Gems: x6 (3/card)
Thank You Card
I love how this card showcases both sides of the pattern paper.
Measurements:
- Thick White Card Stock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 4″ and 1-1/8″ x 4″ (cut from the same 4″x4″ piece we already cut into)
- Basic White: 4th smallest postage rectangle (stamped & then shrunk down – see video for how to)
- Ribbon: 3″
- Twine: 6″
- Gems: x3
You’re Simply Marvelous Card

- Misty Moonlight: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ cut with 4th smallest postage rectangle and then embossed with the painted texture EF

Here for You Card
I love this card design with a long, narrow greeting.

Square Card
I had to include a square card for something a little different. You should have one 4″ x 4″ square left. Cut it diagonally for this card.
Measurements:
- Basic White: 5-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ scored at 5-1/4″; 2″ Circle and strip for greeting
- Fresh Freesia: 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
- Misty Moonlight: 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Pattern Paper: 4″ x 4″ cut diagonally & fussy cut birds
- Vellum: 2-3/8″ Circle
- Twine
- Gems: x3
I hope that you enjoyed this version of a one sheet wonder and that it inspires you to give it a try!

Beautiful cards, Sherry. I love this Flight and Airy DSP and what you did with one sheet. Enjoy your day! Fussy cutting is not a favorite of mine, but I admire your skills. Enjoy your day!
