For the month of February I’m participating in a layout a day (LOAD) challenge. In February of last year, I participated in the same challenge and managed to complete a layout for all 28 days. By the end of the month I was much more confident and comfortable creating layouts. I can’t wait to see how I grow this month.
I likely won’t share all of the layouts I create but will share some and a few more on Instagram (sherry stamps). Others will be used for some upcoming events.
Committing to a layout a day takes a bit of preparation. There are a few things that I did to prepare before the challenge started.
To prepare for a LOAD challenge:
- gather, or print, some of the photos that you want to document
- pull out some coordinating papers and embellishments
- tuck the papers, photos and embellishments into page protectors
- if you use pocket pages, tuck your photos into pockets in the order you’d like them
- start with a clean and organized workspace
These tips will help you on days when you don’t have much time to complete a layout. It’s amazing how much time it can take to pick a photo and then find products that will coordinate with it. Having some of this done ahead of time will save you tons of time!
Day 1 – Our Teenage Boy
This layout was completed using one of those prepared kits. All the paper is from Heidi Swapps Wolf Pack collection – the colours in this product line worked perfectly with this photo of my son. Note: the journaling is covered because it was a bit private and my son is sensitive on what I share (about him) online.
Day 2 – Mykonos
This was a layout from my 2019 album for the month of July. That album has all my photos tucked into pockets until the end of August. Our July trip to Europe trip is almost done thanks to a bit of crafting time with friends today.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram (@sherrystamps) if you’d like LOAD challenge updates.
Have a creative day.
