Today I’m sharing 3 ways to use patterned paper scraps on cards. I love to use my scraps and try to waste very little. These card designs are ones you can use over and over with different paper collections and get a different look each time!
Because my craft room is packed away in a box for the next 6 weeks my supplies are very limited. I will be getting creative with the way I use the supplies that I have out. One of those ways is by using up some scraps that I had leftover after creating this months Snail Mail class to go.
This first sample uses larger scraps of patterned paper to create a pretty card front.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White: scrap for stamping
- Real Red: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Basic Gray: 2-1/4″ circle punch
- DSP: Red Hearts 1-1/2″ x 5-1/8″; Pink Swirls 2-3/4″ x 5-1/8″; die cut snail and fussy cut paper plane
- Snail Mail Twine Combo: about 30″
If you’re anything like me, you end up with LOTS of strips of patterned paper. This is a great card layout for using some of those strips.

If you’d like to see how these cards come together, here’s the replay of today’s FB live.
In this last sample I used a punch to add a pop of pattern to my card front. You could use any shape punch. By simply changing the shape you can really change the look of the card.
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
- Basic White: 3” x 3” for stamping
- Bermuda Bay: 3” x 3” die cut the 5th smallest layering circle
- Snail Mail DSP: four rectangular postage stamp shapes
There are so many creative ways to use your patterned paper scraps. Stop by on Monday to see a layout I created using scraps of the Snail Mail dsp.
If you enjoyed todays projects be sure to check out this months class to go featuring the Snail Mail suite.
Have a creative day!
