It’s amazing how much a good purge of your supplies can do for your creativity. Not only is it a great reminder of what you have but it helps you reflect on what you like and dislike.
As crafters our taste changes, styles changes and just like everything else in life, there are trends. I was just going through some paper yesterday and I was wondering why I had ever bought some of them. They weren’t my style and I don’t think they ever were!
Once a year I do a big purge of my products and I’m quite ruthless. Anything I don’t like or don’t think I’ll ever use, I get rid of. I will do this throughout the year as well, if I find things getting out of hand.
A couple weeks ago I noticed my bin of Project Life cards on the floor. It had been over a year since I even looked in it. So I went through it and pulled out only the cards that I loved or thought I would use. I went from a bin with hundreds, if not thousands of cards to this.
This is all I kept. And this isn’t even all 3×4 and 4×6 cards, there’s a hodgepodge of things in this bin. It felt good to pass the rest of the cards on to someone else to enjoy. Now this is on my Raskog cart and I can easily go through it when I am looking for a card.
Having fewer things to choose from allows me to be more productive. Don’t get me wrong I still have a LOT of crafting supplies but I do try and go through it often to refresh myself on what I have.
When you purge your supplies, like I said earlier, reminds you of what you have. You may find a piece of paper that you bought with the intention of using on a specific product but then put aside and forgot about. Maybe that will be the inspiration you need to get started on that project.

Today I thought I’d share a quick flip through of my most recent completed album.
