Good morning! What a fabulous weekend I had. I am so lucky to do what I do and get to do it with so many fabulous people!
I spent this past weekend at a crafting retreat. We tried somewhere new so it was a bit nerve racking leading up to the event. The unknown can really take a tole on me. But I’m so excited to say that it was fabulous!
How about a bit of a crafting retreat recap? This will be part one and then on Wednesday I’ll share more of the crafty side of the retreat.
The venue was fabulous. It was a barn like building built with this big open space. We had enough space for everyone to have their own 6 foot table, plus some groups had an extra table. We had access to a full kitchen and we even managed to have space so that all of us could sit around the table for lunch and dinner. This was a highlight for me because it felt like everyone was included unlike some of the other retreat locations I’ve been to.
Accommodations were upstairs. Check out this fabulous hallway leading to the rooms. Fabulous right?!
The weather was cool but perfect for a short fall walk. I managed to snap a few photos.
Can you tell what’s leaning against that little shed? They are old ironing boards!
They had this fabulous alter like thing where they used to do weddings. So we did a group shot. Thank goodness for self timers!
There was the opportunity to participate in a swap as well. It was fun to see what everyone created.
I love crafting retreats for so many reasons. If you’ve never been to one, I highly recommend it!
Here are a few reasons I love retreats:
- An entire weekend dedicated to crafting.
- The friendships you make.
- The inspiration you get from other crafters.
- The opportunity for uninterrupted crafting time.
- The things you learn from other crafters.
- Depending on the retreat – not having to cook and clean for others!
- Have I mentioned the dedicated crafting time?
There was also LOTS of crafting, some gifts, optional classes and so much food! I’ll share the crafty side of the retreat in Wednesdays post if you want to check it out.
Have a creative day!
